One in six couples in the UK experience difficulty in conceiving and infertility is the most common reason for a woman to visit he GP over and above pregnancy. Waiting for and undergoing investigations and treatment for infertility can be highly stressful. It is not uncommon for women and couples going through this to report a whole range of negative emotions including frustration, sadness, anger and helplessness.

I am a qualified ‘Easibirthing’ Hypnotic Fertility Practitioner and have experience in the field of infertility as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Clinical Research Sister, and as a counsellor and psychotherapist working in an IVF clinic supporting couples.

Using a combination of coaching, CBT and hypnotherapy I can help you to feel more in control of your body and emotions and help you maximize your chances of conception by ensuring that you are in the best possible state of mind and body for pregnancy to occur.

We know that there is a strong interrelationship between mind and body and that each impacts the other.  Stress, anxiety and depression, all cause physiological and chemical changes in the body and some studies suggest that these themselves may impact fertility. Animal’s under stress have a reduced fertility and in some cases infertility may be nature’s way of delaying pregnancy until conditions are favorable. Mind body approaches can address the effects of stress on the body and mind and help you to prepare for and cope with fertility treatment whatever the outcome might be.
