Privacy Policy

This information is about data I may collect, store or share in the course of your therapy.

It outlines the purposes of my having this data and your rights in relation to it.


When someone visits my website I use google analytics to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns.  Information collected by Google Analytics is collected anonymously and you will not be identified by it.

Telephone and Email

The devices through which I access my email are password protected. If you make an initial enquiry through email I will normally request a telephone number so that I can contact you to discuss your enquiry and potential therapy. If we proceed in working together I will keep your number stored in my phone under initials and reference number only until you finish your therapy.

At the end of your therapy or should you decide not to proceed all your personal details will be removed from my computer and phone.

Paper Records

During the course of your therapy I will keep a record of your GP details, any relevant medical history and brief records regarding the content of, and interventions used during our sessions.  At the end of your therapy I will keep these records for a period of 7 years. This is a requirement of my professional body the BACP and of my insurer.  All records are kept locked away securely. If I bring notes out of secure storage for example to clinic I bring them without identifying details just initials and reference number. At the end of the 7 year period all paper records will be shredded.

Sharing of Information

I will not share any of the information I hold without your consent.  Exceptions to this may occur should there be an immediate threat of harm to yourself or someone else or should records be requested by a court or law.

Your Rights

You have the right to see information that I hold about you and to rectify any inaccurate or incomplete information.  You can also withdraw your consent for me to use your personal information or request to have it erased. (though I can decline whilst the information in needed for me to practice lawfully and competently.)
